Welcome to Medical Center Manila

Medical Center Mania (MCM) is a 250-bed tertiary hospital, licensed by the Department of Health and accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Managed and operated by Hospital Management Services, Inc. (HMSI), MCM was established in 1967 by a group of distinguished physicians who were graduates of the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), headed by Nobel Prize Nominee and National Scientist for Nuclear Medicine Dr. Paulo C. Campos, made possible with the whole hearted support of Mrs. Soledad Lirio Dolor and Mrs. Josephine Murphy-Cojuangco.
MCM has continued to enjoy stability due to its reputation as home to many of the nation’s respected physicians in their field of specialization who have undergone extensive training locally and internationally, its affordable services, the “patients come first” philosophy & complimented by state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and personalized services of highly competent and caring hospital staff.
Medical Center Manila: Magnificent at 40!
Medical Center Manila (MCM) celebrates its RUBY anniversary – 40 years of masterful, compassionate, cost-contained medical service to the community. Like a precious ruby, MCM has over the years, become polished and multi-faceted. A ruby's intense fiery red color is paralleled by MCM’s intense sense of purpose: to continue to provide quality, state-of-the-art affordable health care.
Anniversaries are celebrated to remember the past and to look ahead to a bright future. Forty years ago a group of distinguished UP-PGH physicians headed by Dr. Paulo C. Campos organized themselves to establish a first-rate hospital manned by the best and most respected Filipino doctors in the various fields of medical specialization. With the entrepreneurial wisdom of Mrs. Soledad Lirio-Dolor and the financial assistance of Mrs. Josephine Murphy-Cojuangco, that vision quickly became a reality with the founding of MCM. Since its conception, MCM has evolved, adapted and survived difficult times. It has resiliently emerged self-sufficient, strong and focused, with its vision shared and supported by its mother company UPSI Property Holding Inc. (UPSIPHI) and its sister institution, the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC).
There has been a renewed interest from the young, brilliant and promising graduates of the foremost medical colleges in the country to join MCM’s select roster of 176 active, 246 visiting, and 5 courtesy medical staff. The graduates of the EAC College of Medicine and College of Nursing, as well as the graduates of its various paramedical colleges naturally gravitate to MCM for clinical experience through the hospital's accredited training programs. This continuously provides the hospital with a full- complement of qualified professionals.
In response to the expanding needs of its patients and doctors, MCM is completing extensive renovation and upgrading of the hospital lobby, offices for patient services, in-patient rooms (suites, small private, semi-private and wards), Emergency Room, Surgical Complex, Imaging Department, Cardiovascular Laboratory, the Breast Center, the Neonatal Unit. This continuing, soon-to-be-completed effort, will quickly involve the entire hospital – a much awaited transformation that will further bolster the respect and recognition from the community that MCM enjoys.
On the occasion of MCM's 40th anniversary, the hospital administration, headed by Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos, HMSI President, Dra. Asuncion Abaya-Morido, MCM Hospital Director, and the MCM Medical Staff led by Dr. Napoleon Apolinario, MSO President, reiterate their commitment to ensure that MCM being an institution that provides comprehensive health care to more than 50,000 patients will remain relevant, progressive, competitive and sensitive.
MCM expresses its gratitude to all its patients, its medical and nursing staff, its employees, its partners in the pharmaceutical, medical technology industries, and in the government sector for their continued trust and confidence in MCM, and for making clear that after 40 years, MCM remains a leader in quality affordable health care. With the help of our Great Provider, we look forward to continuing to answer the health and educational needs of the global community as envisioned by our founders 40 years ago.
