Patients & Visitors Information
Medical Center Manila is a Tertiary General Hospital which also provides training and teaching.
ADMISSION
At Medical Center Manila, you have a choice of the following rooms: Presidential Suite, Suite, Private, Semi-Private, Ward.
The Admitting Office is open 24 hours a day; room reservation may be done 2 to 4 hours prior to admission. As an Admitting Policy, you must bring with you the Admitting Orders of your Attending Physician and your Letter of Authorization (LOA) if you are an HMO patient. If you have any inquiries regarding your admission, please contact the Admitting Desk at tel. no. 532-81-31 local 2050 or 2051.
DEPOSITS
You are required to make an initial deposit upon admission (except in cases of emergency or as prescribed by law) in accordance with the Hospital Schedule of Deposit.
VALUABLES
Please do not bring with you too much cash, jewelry and other valuable items during admission. Anything of value may be deposited at the Cashier’s Office for safekeeping and a receipt will be issued to you.
ARRIVAL AT THE NURSING UNIT
Please present your Admitting Orders and Record to the Nursing Staff at the floor where you are admitted before going to your room. A house staff will orient you the different facilities in your room and a comfort kit will also be provided to you.
DURING YOUR HOSPITAL STAY
Your attending physician(s) are primarily in-charge of your medical and surgical care. Assisting your physicians in the implementation of your health care plan are nurses and house staff of the hospital. All the necessary supplies and medicines needed for your care shall be supplied by the hospital.
DIETARY SERVICES
All meals are provided during your stay in the hospital. We have dieticians and nutritionists who shall carry out your dietary prescriptions. You may also discuss with them your preferences. Extra food tray for your watcher or guest may be ordered ahead of time. Costs are charged to your account.
A microwave oven is available at the Nurse’s Station where you can re-heat your food. Please make sure that you use only microwave safe containers.
Meal Schedule are as follows:

Food trays are picked-up 2 hours after delivery.
PHARMACY SERVICES
The hospital pharmacy is open 24 hours a day. For your protection, all your medications shall be dispensed by the MCM Pharmacy which is responsible for the quality, purity and efficacy of all medications administered to our patients.
HOUSKEEPING SERVICES
A housekeeper is assigned to clean your room everyday. For any extra cleaning or housekeeping needs, please inform the nurse station. Color coded garbage cans are provided in your room: green for biodegradable and black for non-biodegradable. Nursing staff collects all hazardous wastes in yellow bags. We would like to enjoin you to help us maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of your room and hospital as a whole.
PASTORAL SERVICES
MCM has two Catholic priests and the MCST sisters to take care of your spiritual needs. For confessions or consultations please call local 3058. Masses are celebrated twice a day with the following schedule:

PRIVATE DUTY NURSE & MIDWIVES
If you want to avail of the services of a private duty nurse or a midwife you may do so. Please call the Nursing Office at local 2103 to assist you. You pay your PDN & PDM directly as per approved rates.
VISITING HOURS
Medical Center Manila welcomes your visitors provided they are allowed by your attending physicians. Too many visitors can tire you or delay your recovery. Kindly inform the nurses if you do not wish to see visitors.
We are requesting your relatives and visitors to observe the following:
- Only 1 watcher is allowed after 9:00 p.m.
- All visitors mustleave at 9:00 p.m.
- Children below 5 years old are not allowed. Children catch diseases easily.
- Visitors are not allowed to loiter in the corridors.
- We encourage visitors / watchers to dress up properly & decently.
NO SMOKING, NO GAMBLING, NO DRINKING OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS
Smoking & Drinking Alcoholic Beverages are not allowed inside the Hospital premises. Both are hazardous to your health.
SECURITY REMINDERS
Always lock your rooms properly.
Report immediately to the Nurse Station or to the Security Personnel (Security local 2062; 4004; 5000) any of the following:
- Suspicious looking characters
- Telephone pranksters (e.g. persons pretending to be your doctors asking for advanced professional fees)
- Any person pretending to be a hospital personnel or your personal physician
- Peddlers or vendors
DISASTER PREPAREDENESS
MCM is equipped and prepared to meet this emergency. We have an organized Disaster Preparedness Team and the personnel undergo regular fire, earthquake and bomb drills. All that we ask of you is to help us prevent fire and stay calm and follow instructions if it happens so we can help each other.
PARTIAL PAYMENTS
Our staff from the Credit & Collection shall furnish you a copy of your outstanding hospital bill every 2-3 days. You are requested to make partial payments upon receipt of the bill.
UPON DISCHARGE
Hospitalization charges are billed separately from doctor’s fees. Billing Section will provide you of your final statement of account. You may get/settle your doctor’s professional fees at their clinics.
Procedure to follow on discharge:
- Your attending physician must give the written order in the chart for your discharge.
- The nurse/ward clerk will inform the Billing Section of your discharge order who in turn will prepare your final hospital bill.
- Get the professional fees of your doctors or settle them at their clinics.
- Discharge slips will be given to you at the Nurse station.
- For PhilHealth members, proceed to PhilHealth Department.
- Settle your account at the Cashier’s Office as soon as you receive your final billing statement.
For Charged Account: Clearance slips will be given at the Billing Section. Any excess charges will be paid at the Cashier’s Office
- After payment has been made, clearance slips will be given, one copy for the nurse station and a copy for the security guard.
- Final instructions of your doctors will be given to you in writing by the staff nurse.

Parking Space
There is a multilevel parking area at the building across the hospital. After parking your car, you can take the walkway connecting the 1st floor parking area to the 2nd floor of the hospital.
